4. Don’t be a jerk
On a first date, you shouldn’t make any rude comments about a girl or her looks. Even if you really don’t like people who smoke or drink, you should see if there are things about her that you like that outweigh the bad habits. In the end, you can reach a compromise, but the best way to resolve this situation is to decide right then and there whether you’re going to continue with her or if this is your last date. To be fair, though, hiding something like this from someone you like will only get you so far. Be direct, speak up, and be prepared to compromise.
